Award-winning landscape photography

Blue

A thunderstorm at midnight over the Baltic Sea. Water and fire are two of the four elements making up the world in ancient philosophy but are also in modern science basic premises for the creation of life on earth.

This photograph won a

  • Gold medal from the Swedish Society for Photography, Nordic Circuit, 2023

  • Honorable Mention at the Nordic Nature Photography Contest, 2024

Landscape photograph - Fog bow

Fog bow

A fog bow, sometimes called a white rainbow, appears as a bow in fog rather than rain. Because of the very small size of water droplets that cause fog, the fog bow has only very weak colors, with a red outer edge and bluish inner edge. This fog bow was captured over the pack ice close to East Greenland, using a polarizing filter, which makes the weak colors more visible.

This photograph won a

  • 3rd place in category “Landscape” (Danish Nature Photographers competition), 2022

  • Finalist in the international competition “Natural Landscapes”, 2022

  • Finalist in the Nature TTL competition, 2023

Landscape photograph - lightning

Thunderstorm

A thunderstorm passed by the coast of northwest Sealand, Denmark at midnight, showing off some stunning lightnings.

This capture was awarded with a

  • 2nd place in category “Landscape” (Danish Nature Photographers competition), 2021

Landscape photograph - iceberg with fog

Iceberg no. 2

This picture of an iceberg surrounded by fog was taken in Scoresundsby fjord in East Greenland. Fog is formed when the temperature of the air near the surface of the iceberg cools down and the water vapor in the air condenses into fog.

This capture was awarded with a

  • Bronze medal, Swedish Society for Photography (RSF), Nordic championship of photography, 2023

  • Bronze medal, Image Colleague Society, Nordic Circuit, 2022

  • Accepted in various exibitions and circuits under FIAP patronage (Fédération Internationale de l’Art Photographique)

Landscape photograph - lightning

Lightning at sunset

A thunderstorm passed by the coast of northwest Sealand, Denmark during sunset, showing off this stunning lightning close to the setting sun.

This capture was

  • Finalist “Denmarks Best Nature Photo”, Den Danske Naturfond, 2022

  • accepted in various exibitions and circuits under FIAP patronage (Fédération Internationale de l’Art Photographique)

Landscape photograph - arcus cloud

Arcus cloud

A thunderstorm in the making. This incoming front with roll and shelf clouds was captured over the Baltic sea in northwest Sealand, Denmark.

Arcus clouds are low, horizontal cloud formations. Roll clouds and shelf clouds are the two main types of arcus clouds. They most frequently form along the leading edge or gust fronts of thunderstorms; some of the most dramatic arcus formations mark the gust fronts of derecho-producing convective systems.

This capture was

  • accepted in various exibitions and circuits under FIAP patronage (Fédération Internationale de l’Art Photographique)

Landscape photograph - aurora with star trails

Aurora 24 April 23

A 180-degree long-time exposure of the night sky to visualize the star trails, at an evening displaying an aurora at the northern horizont.

A star trail is a type of photograph that uses long exposure times to capture diurnal circles, the apparent motion of stars in the night sky due to Earth's rotation. A star-trail photograph shows individual stars as streaks across the image, with longer exposures yielding longer arcs.

This capture was

  • accepted in various exibitions and circuits under FIAP patronage (Fédération Internationale de l’Art Photographique)
